The impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19 including mutations) requires us to make several changes to the products we offer and therefore from January 2021 whilst these changes are taking place our partner, Campbell Irvine, will be looking after the travel insurance needs of Makesure’s customers.

Because the World Health Organisation declared the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak a pandemic on 11th March 2020 this is now a known event. This affects the cover provided by Makesure Travel Insurance policies.

Any policies purchased on or after 17th March 2020 will not include cover under any section (apart from Medical Expenses Section) for claims directly or indirectly caused by the Coronavirus. This includes any preventative, containment or delay measures.

For any policies issued before 17th March 2020 cover remains as per the policy terms and conditions.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), from July, has removed its general advice against all but essential travel. There are, however, some destinations where their advice against travel remains. We recommend that you visit the FCDO website. Our policies do not provide cover if for your chosen destination the FCDO are advising against all but essential travel.

Over 65's
Travel Insurance

Have you tried to get travel insurance, but have been penalised for being over 65 years in age, or over 70 years old. In fact if you are over 75 years old you are probably struggling to get any travel insurance cover anywhere in the UK.

Medical Conditions

If you have a pre–existing medical condition you have probably found it hard to get travel insurance cover. In particular you have probably had to call several companies to give full details of your medical conditions.
